In this 4-week live and recorded course, you will have full access to Jayson as he covers one topic related to school-based OT each Tuesday and Thursday evening. And, in case you are wondering, yes, you will receive a certificate of completion for 8 contact hours after completing an online quiz. 


Along with 8 individual live training sessions, you will also be given access to documents and templates Jayson uses as a school-based OT. This includes a customizable and comprehensive evaluation template and checklist that will help you with each and every evaluation you complete. 


Each webinar will be approximately one hour long and will be recorded for your convenience to replay whenever you would like. Those who attend the live session will have the opportunity to ask questions during the Q+A portion of the session. Live sessions will occur on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning June 9th at 4 pm Pacific Standard Time. (7 pm EST) Our final session will occur on July 2nd.

  • Continuing Education

    Earn a certificate of completion worth 8 contact hours upon completion of the course and assessment


    Upon completion of the 8 modules, an email will be sent out to you with a link to complete an online competency assessment. Upon completion of that assessment with a 70% or greater, you will be emailed a certificate of completion acknowledging your completion of 8 hours worth of continuing education.


    This course is not approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association. Therapists are responsible for tracking their own continuing education hours for state and national licensure/certification. Be sure to check your state and national boards for information regarding requirements for licensure/certification.

  • Level of Education

    This course is recommended for new and intermediate level school-based OT providers. Content and language will be specific to the school-based setting. No prerequisites required.

  • What should I expect after purchasing?

    Upon purchasing this course, you will receive an email with the syllabus for this course. The syllabus will outline the specifics about how and when to log-on for the 4-weeks of live courses and how you will be able to view the recoded sessions if you are not able to attend the live sessions on any of the evenings.

  • Course Objectives

    • Participants will understand the importance of a pre-referral and referral process and how to implement an RTI process


    • Participants will understand how to complete a functional school-based evaluation utilizing the PEO Model 


    • Participants will understand the process of preparing for an IEP meeting- including those which may be “High Profile.” This includes the preparation of goals and determining the frequency of services. 


    • Participants will demonstrate knowledge of how to present their results to an IEP team in a meaningful way.


    • Participants will understand the importance of developing a treatment plan and how to turn IEP data into a dynamic treatment plan.


    • Participants will understand when and how to legally and ethically graduate a student from occupational therapy services.
